Naughty Reindeer, Raw Turkey, and Split Ends

A few weeks ago, Josh and I decided we wanted to have a game night with a few of our other couple friends. We planned an Ugly Christmas Sweater Game Night and began searching online for new Christmas sweaters to wear for that night. Eventually, we both found two we really liked and were excited to get them in the mail. A few days later, Josh found out that his would not be delivered until after Christmas, in January. Mine, however, came right on time. I opened up the package, very excitedly, and held it up against my body. I said, "What do you think!?" Sam, Josh's brother, said, "How come the reindeer are doing naughty things??" My eyes widened as I slowly turned the sweater around to find that the reindeer were indeed doing naughty things on my innocent Christmas sweater. After our second failed attempt at getting a new Christmas Sweater for our game night, we decided that we were just bad at ordering things online and that maybe next year we'll have to try ordering a little sooner.

Don't fret - we're not keeping it. But I HAD to take a picture so that we could always remember to double check before we buy :).

Our game night, however, was a total blast! We all brought treats to share and Josh made his homemade guacamole in his molcajete. We played some of our games and played a new one that both of us really enjoyed called "Guillotine". After they all left (around 1:30AM), Josh said, "Look, Cambri. We have friends!!" The next morning came way too fast and we realized that neglecting to plan our nursery and primary lessons until the next morning at the breakfast table is perhaps not the greatest idea. I played one of the nursery videos on lds.org about being kind like Jesus. I quickly bore my testimony about loving others and we talked about what "gifts" they were going to give to Jesus this Christmas for His birthday. As soon as I said, "amen", the kids all chanted, "Again!!" We watched the same two minute movie at least ten more times. Good thing those kids are cute!

We were on the planning committee for our Ward Christmas party and were asked to also play a Christmas musical number. We went to the high school late on Friday night and picked five random Christmas songs to play the next morning. The ward ended up loving our "Jingle Bells Boogie" and we had lot's of people come up to us and say, "What a cute couple! How fun is it that you get to play music together." It definitely is so much fun!

Last night for Family Home Evening we went and got our hair cut at Fantastic Sam's in Springville. We had been putting this off for a long time, so I finally decided it would be the perfect FHE activity. When I sat down in the chair, I told the lady I only wanted a small trim, but I didn't want any dead hair or split ends. After looking at my hair, she said, "If I cut off 1 1/2 inches, it'll be healthier." I said, "Go for it!" and she started cutting away. I learned that 1 1/2 inches is much more than I originally thought it was.

Josh got a turkey from his school and decided to get it out yesterday to cook. We looked up a yummy recipe and got it all ready. When it came time to prepare the turkey, both of us looked at each other and said, "What the heck are giblets?" and "We have to get the neck out?!" and "That's was giblet gravy is!??" Needless to say, it was disgusting. But, we definitely had a lot of fun learning how to prepare and cook this turkey. Now let's just hope we don't get food poisoning :).

Josh and I both love to cook. It's been pretty busy lately so it hasn't happened very much, but whenever it does, I always want to take pictures because I love when my food actually comes together (let's be honest... most of the time it doesn't). Our current favorite meal is Italian Skillet Chicken and Fried Rice.

Josh has always been so sweet to me. Ever since it started frosting outside, Josh has scraped off all the windows on my car before he leaves for work. Every morning, I come out to find a clean car and it reminds me just how thankful I am for him. The other day, he scraped the words "Love you" on one of the windows and I thought it was so sweet I had to take a picture.
